About My Clients
I work with individuals and couples navigating relationship challenges, communication issues, and high-pressure careers. In our first few sessions, we’ll explore what brought you to therapy, your goals, and the outcomes you hope to achieve. By around the third session, we’ll create a collaborative plan tailored to your needs to help you move toward meaningful and lasting change.
My Background and Approach
Fatima Mohammad is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist with a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Victoria and a Master of Science in Marriage & Family Therapy from Northwestern University, home to one of the leading MFT programs in the U.S. Drawing from her experience growing up in a biracial, bicultural, and multi-faith household, Fatima brings a nuanced understanding of identity, relationships, and family dynamics. She specializes in supporting individuals and couples navigating communication challenges, anxiety, self-esteem, infidelity, identity development, and family-of-origin concerns. Her work is especially focused on high-achieving professionals, couples in business together, and clients exploring racial, cultural, and relational identity. Fatima takes a collaborative, emotion-focused approach that helps clients build healthier relationships, stronger communication, deeper self-awareness, and greater confidence in both their personal and professional lives.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a therapist, I deeply value authenticity, cultural awareness, and the understanding that our identities and lived experiences shape how we move through relationships, work, and the world. Growing up in a biracial, bicultural, and multi-faith household gave me an early appreciation for the complexity of identity, belonging, and connection, and continues to inform the way I support clients today. I believe therapy should be a space where people feel safe showing up fully - without judgment, shame, or the pressure to perform. I’m especially passionate about supporting individuals and couples navigating intercultural relationships, high-pressure careers, family expectations, and questions around identity and self-worth. My approach is collaborative, relational, and rooted in curiosity. I value meaningful conversations, emotional honesty, and helping clients build relationships that feel healthier, more fulfilling, and aligned with who they truly are.
