About My Clients
As a therapist, I strive to create a space that is warm, accepting, and trauma informed. A goal of mine includes de-stigmatizing mental health therapy, so I understand the courage it takes to reach out for extra support. I am fascinated by how our family relationships can impact other relationships, our self worth, and our place in the world. I work most well with clients who are curious towards their past experiences and I can support them in understanding the impact of those experiences.
My Background and Approach
Therapy is your space to be your true self, to feel vulnerable, and express the more difficult emotions. Therapy is your space to grow to be the best version of yourself. In our therapeutic journey, we will think about how your early childhood experiences have impacted your current interpersonal relationships and how your identities have been shaped by your environments. I do not believe that therapy can be a "cure" for current struggles, rather it can be insightful and healing. I have additional training in attachment-based interventions to better understand family dynamics, adverse childhood experiences, and relationships. I also have training in Gottman Method Level One and am certified to provide both premarital and marital counseling.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Throughout my education and work, I've learned about the emotional pain BIPOC folks endure and supported various communities with their mental health needs. My unique, yet collective experiences as a child of immigrant parents and a South Asian woman allow me to recognize why family and cultural identity are important.
