About My Clients
Using a variety of modalities (Cognitive Behavioral, Psychodynamic, Supportive Therapy), I work with individuals who are experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship issues, stress, and life transitions, as well as those who have suffered from physical and emotional abuse.
My Background and Approach
I am an LGBTQ+ affirming and trauma-informed therapist. l offer a safe, judgment-free space where my clients can share their own unique stories, develop positive skills, and address and remove barriers - releasing the lingering effects of past traumas. I earned my Master of Social Work at the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College. Prior to transitioning to my role as a Psychotherapist, I advocated for and provided 1-1 counseling and crisis intervention services to victims of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, and other violent crimes. Additionally, I held a Senior Leadership role at a Human Services organization providing employment services to underserved community members. My life experiences are varied yet the one constant is my deep connection with people and desire to empower others to find happiness and fulfillment in their lives. I am a competent, empathetic, and attentive clinician with a deep passion for my work.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that hurt, disappointment, sadness and grief are a normal part of the human experience, and that very often we turn this hurt inward, creating even more painful beliefs about oneself and the world. I make it a point to create a genuine relationship with my clients and join them on their path to personal growth. Reaching out for help can be difficult.
