My Background and Approach
My approach to therapy uses a strengths-based and solutions-focused therapeutic approach with elements of CBT, DBT, and EMDR guiding my practice. During sessions, we will work together to address your circumstances and reframe regressive or negative thoughts into positive and progressive thoughts.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a BIPOC Asian American therapist, I am able to understand the complexities of navigating cultural identity while also supporting clients towards achieving their mental health goals. As a male therapist, I also recognize the work that needs to be done to create an initiative for men to be able to speak up about their mental health and construct their emotions into words. My personal goal in the field of therapy is to be able to provide a space for clients from BIPOC communities, Asian Americans, and men to have conversations surrounding taboo subjects and equip them with the proper emotional toolbox that helps prepare them become self-sufficient in caring for their mental and emotional health, while also seeking culturally conscious solutions that will positively impact themselves and the people around them.
