About My Clients
Maybe you’ve lived through things that were never your choice or systems that shaped your life without your consent, and maybe you've done what you've had to do to survive, but you're tired of holding yourself together. Somatic Psychotherapy is a body-based approach to wholeness that gently helps your nervous system to unwind its stories of survival to make space for new stories of rest, peace, and freedom.
My Background and Approach
I bring over a decade of frontline mental health experience as a social worker, supporting individuals and families through crisis, chronic stress, systemic harm, and complex trauma. That background keeps my somatic work real and grounded. I understand how much our nervous systems are shaped by the worlds we’ve had to survive. I don’t separate trauma from context, and I don’t pathologize survival. Because of that, I don’t rely on Western clinical models alone. As an Indigenously trained trauma practitioner and clinical therapist, I center my therapeutic approach on the Medicine Wheel and other non-Western practices of restoration like meditation, chakra work, acupressure tapping, ecotherapy, ancestral healing, and ritual. These practices support clients in moving beyond symptom management and control and into deeply felt self-sovereignty and wholeness.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that fighting for and protecting human dignity is not just a concept but a spiritual practice. As a private therapist, I staunchly honor the dignity of each of my clients and stand in affirmative care of our neighbors, friends, and family who have found therapeutic and medical support to be corrosive, demeaning, or inaccessible. I am an LGBTQ+ affirming therapist, as well as a community resource advocate, and deeply committed to securing justice and care for women’s issues. As a mixed-race person who grew up in a racially diverse town, I understand the stress that can be experienced when having to translate your cultural experience to a provider. I also understand the many joyful gifts a culturally diverse community brings to humanity.
