About My Clients
This can be your first time reaching out to a therapist, or maybe you have been in therapy before. The most important to start with is that you have a clear understanding of what therapy is, how it works, how/if you can benefit from it now and if I am the right fit for you. Issues that I will best support you with include: anxiety, depression, relationship issues, anger/stress management, trauma and PTSD, religion and spirituality related goals, and overall life satisfaction and wellness.
My Background and Approach
I graduated from the MSW program at KSU in 2012. I also have a Master's in Psychology from PUC-GO, Brazil. I'm experienced and comfortable with TeleMental Health and I have worked several years in outpatient settings providing individual and family therapy for adults, adolescents and their families. I am also a master trainer in Adverse Childhood Experiences and I speak in conferences about this topic. I thrive to create a therapeutic relationship where I am sensitive and affirmative of people's self-worth and dignity. I appreciate and welcome you no matter which race, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, culture, religion or philosophy you might identify yourself with.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
"The most important and beautiful thing about the world is this: people are not always the same, they are not finished yet, but they are always changing. They are tuning and untuning.” This quote from the Brazilian writer Guimarães Rosa has fascinated me since my adolescence when I had already decided that I was going to be a psychologist. Every time I walk side by side with my clients in their journey of healing and self-transformation, I feel grateful for all the adversities that I've had to overcome in my life, which coupled with my experience in Psychology and Social Work have prepared me to be the non-judgmental and compassionate presence that my clients need in difficult times.
