About My Clients
My ideal clients are high-functioning individuals who feel overwhelmed beneath the surface. You may be navigating anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, pregnancy or postpartum changes, or hormonal mood shifts while managing work and family responsibilities. You’re insightful and motivated, but want steady, thoughtful support that integrates therapy and medication management to help you feel stable, clear, and more like yourself again
My Background and Approach
I am a dual-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-C), with advanced training at Yale University and experience across multiple levels of psychiatric care. This allows me to recognize subtle mood changes early, manage complex presentations, and create thoughtful, safe treatment plans. I integrate medical and psychiatric care by evaluating mood symptoms in the context of hormones, sleep, medical health, and life stressors — not in isolation. My lived experience as an immigrant informs my sensitivity to cultural identity and the quiet pressures many individuals carry. I strive to create a space where clients feel understood without overexplaining their experiences. I treat anxiety, depression, bipolar spectrum disorders, and perinatal and postpartum mood concerns, offering psychotherapy alongside careful medication management. My approach is collaborative, steady, and focused on long-term stability.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am deeply committed to destigmatizing mental health treatment, particularly within Afro-Caribbean and immigrant communities where emotional struggles are often carried silently. I believe seeking therapy or medication is not a weakness, but an act of strength and self-preservation. I am especially passionate about creating safe, affirming spaces for LGBTQ+ individuals within communities where identity may feel complicated or unsupported. My goal is to provide care that honors cultural background while making room for authenticity, healing, and growth. Mental health care should feel safe, respectful, and free of judgment. I strive to create that space for every client I serve.
