About My Clients
My clients are often going through major life transitions such as becoming a parent, adjusting to life in college or young adulthood, and learning to balance a busy career with other aspects of life. I also enjoy working with other helping professionals and caregivers by supporting them to manage stress and prioritize taking care of themselves.
My Background and Approach
My approach is collaborative, with the understanding that you are the expert in your own life. I will provide a safe, nonjudgmental space for you to be present; to share as much as you feel comfortable with, and I will support you to take care of yourself and create the life you want. Complementary to talk therapy, making art in a therapy session gives us another layer of communication to help you process and understand complex emotions and experiences. Since self-care is such a crucial component of overall wellbeing, we can also work on establishing a healthier lifestyle by finding new ways to relax, feel energized, and manage stress. If you are ready to commit to making yourself more of a priority, take a closer look at your stressors, and experiment with creative problem solving, I am prepared to meet you where you are to help make lasting changes in your life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Before I started my career as a helping professional, I wore many hats. I felt the stress of always looking for the next gig, the financial uncertainty of my work, the pressure of being spread too thin, and the desire to be recognized. Sometimes I struggled with anxiety or periods of sadness that felt unshakable, and I certainly felt stuck in a rut at times when it felt impossible to get out of my own way. I wanted to find a way to feel better inside and out; to be more fulfilled, and less concerned with how other people saw me. Through my training and practice as well as personal therapy, I realized that regular self-care was a crucial component to improve overall wellbeing. For me, part of taking care of myself is through creative expression; it helps me focus on the present moment and feel productive. I am inspired by helping people feel better by exploring art making and lifestyle modifications.
