I trust that my clients are the unequivocal experts of their own lives. I appreciate the diversity of identities of all those with whom I work, believing in the importance of holding many perspectives at once. There are many paths to achieving mental health and wellness, and I continually seek feedback from my clients, respecting their unique needs and comfort with the process of therapy. I use evidence-based therapy approaches, and emphasize the importance of behavioral change and self-care.
My Background and Approach
We all navigate this world each day doing the best we can, but life's biggest sources of pain, confusion, or stress are rarely formally explained to us. We are left to simply "figure it out". While you have persevered through many difficult experiences, therapy provides a space to examine your life intentionally, with a plan and goal. I believe that therapy should ultimately allow you to "become" your own therapist, bringing what you learn from our work back into your own world. I will challenge your beliefs and habits in therapy and encourage your honest self-reflection, but always with elements of humor and compassion.
