About My Clients
My ideal clients are children or teens who struggle with emotion management, ADHD symptoms, communication, anxiety and self esteem. My clients are also families who struggle to navigate conflict, or parents in need of assistance with responding to behaviors. I make sure every session is fun, memorable and educational for my clients. I have a collegiate swimming background, and enjoy working with athletes of all ages.
My Background and Approach
I specialize in working with ADHD, ODD, anxiety, depression, emotion management, and family conflict. My clients learn about assertive communication, distress tolerance, coping skills, self-soothing techniques and strength based interventions. I educate clients about boundaries and how to identify them, communicate them and respect them. I weave client interests into every session to create a sense of commonality & trust. I meet my clients where they are at, and help them grow into strong communicators and advocators of their own needs. Helping children gain control of their emotions is my favorite part of the job, and I am eager to share the tools I have! I find a lot of value in sports involvement, physical activity and having variety in routine.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Ive been in private practice for a year now, but before private practice I completed 4 years of agency work. I saw a caseload of 50 children and families, and learned an immeasurable amount during my time there. If you, your child, or your family want to explore the barriers present in your lives I would love to be the therapist for you and your family! You and your children don’t have to navigate life’s conflicts and transitions alone, I’m eager to help. I am a strong advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community, and I will always use my position to educate. I am always willing to learn from my clients, and I know there is something I can learn from everyone. A very close loved one of mine is a recovering addict, and I am incredibly passionate about helping the youth impacted by the disease of addiction.
