About My Clients
My clients are individuals who want to gain a better understanding of themselves and are dedicated to the process of growth and self-discovery. They often come to me with a recognition that they have patterns that get in the way of what they truly want. Together, we work toward refining these insights, developing communication skills, and establishing new patterns that support their goals and what they want for themselves.
My Background and Approach
I am licensed clinical social worker and licensed clinical addiction specialist with over 8 years of experience helping individuals heal from trauma, addiction, and anxiety. My approach is both relational and psychoeducational. First, I work toward developing a sense of trust and safety with my clients. I want to be sure you are heard and understood. Once we have developed trust, we work on the things that are important to YOU. That may be communication. It might be core beliefs that impact how you show up in the world. Whatever it is- I want to be sure that your goals are being supported. I try to create a laidback and casual atmosphere where my clients feel comfortable and can connect with their sense of humor. My aim is for you to leave our sessions feeling more connected with yourself and ready to meet life's challenges with a sense of confident awareness.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe the antidote to much of the pain people feel on an individual level is a sense of connection. I believe that a person is not defined by what they have done in the past but who they hope to be today. I believe that every person is worthy of dignity, respect, and self-determination. I believe that people should feel free and safe to express their identity without persecution. I'm a person in long-term recovery, and in my free time I enjoy rock climbing and making music.
