Since 2009, I have worked alongside adults dealing with depression and have learned a lot from them and from my experiences with them. I have also seen progress in their ability to prevent, manage, and cope with depressive symptoms. I will utilize such techniques such as psych-education, talk-therapy, role-play, rehearsal, homework, contracts, checklist, etc. to assist the client with reducing depressive symptoms.

Since 2009, I have worked with many individuals suffering from anxiety. (e.g., social anxiety, generalized anxiety, post-traumatic stress, etc.). Utilizing motivational interviewing and cognitive behavior principles, I will explore various scenarios in home/work/community setting(s) that prompts the anxiety. I will use techniques such as psych-education, rehearsal, role-play, homework, contracts, checklist, etc. to assist the client with reducing symptom of anxiety.

Since 2007, I have worked with children on their adhd and have see progress in many of them. I will assist the client with learning and understanding which symptoms are being seen as symptoms of adhd. Utilizing motivational interviewing and cognitive behavior therapy principles, I will explore various scenarios in home/school/neighborhood setting(s) which promote adhd symptoms that lead to academic underachievement and behavior issues.

I have worked over 15 years of experience working with individuals (child/adult) who deal with poor anger management. I consider myself an expert because I have seen a substantial amount of progress from each individual I have worked with over time. I have also learned to grow and adapt to this ever changing society which we live and prosper together in. I learn a lot each time I prepare and facilitate sessions with individuals with anger issues.

People don't really understand how effective play therapy come into play when treating disorders such as adhd and oppositional defiance disorder. It can help me as a therapist identify the 5 W's (e.g., who, what, when, where, and why) surrounding a maladaptive behavior. The therapeutic games also assist with developing new or alternative ways to address a particular maladadptive behavior or concern the individual and/or authority figure may have.

I have been using this modality since I began doing therapy 15 years ago. It is great to use because its reminds me of times I got really good advise from a really good friend who really cares.
