My Background and Approach
I've been there. I spent many years beating myself up, battling addiction, and solving my own attachment issues to get to a place where I genuinely love my life. I want to help you get there too. By identifying the unconscious patterns that are holding you back and empowering you to make real, lasting changes, together we will get you where you want to go. My approach is largely psychodynamic in nature, with a depth psychology lens. What that means is I'm interested in how your past informs your present -- so yes, we will be talking about your childhood and family. Depth psychology focuses on your unconscious mind, and bringing to light patterns you may not be aware of that are holding you back.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
We all have the capacity for change. We all have the potential to unlock the person inside who we are truly meant to be. Growth is absolutely possible, but only if we are willing to be brave enough to challenge ourselves and ask for help. I thought getting sober would be impossible. It wasn't -- it was just uncomfortable, for awhile, until it improved my life immeasurably. I thought I was incapable of love and would be doomed to be alone forever, despite craving companionship. Turns out I just needed to identify ancient fears that were keeping me locked in self-destructive patterns, then work hard to overcome them. None of this was done on my own. I received a tremendous amount of help -help I never would have gotten had I not summoned the courage to ask for it.
