About My Clients
Whether you're facing unresolved childhood trauma, grief, depression, anxiety, or relationship challenges, remember that you're not alone – I'm here to support you every step of the way. My expertise lies in working with couples, reducing relationship distress, improving self-esteem, dealing with immigration & acculturation, navigating the challenges of military life, & healing from attachment injuries such as infidelity.
My Background and Approach
I offer a holistic approach to therapy, blending somatic techniques, attachment theory, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care tailored to your needs. As a military spouse who lived in Japan for 4 years, I understand the unique challenges faced by military couples and families. I specialize in working with couples, BIPOC and Latine folx, and military families. My practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming, anti-racist, sex-positive, and grounded in the Health at Every Size (HAES) philosophy. I am trained in the Gottman Method and currently pursuing certification in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Collaboratively, I can help you break free from negative patterns, heal attachment wounds, and foster deeper connections in your life. Our sessions provide a safe space where authenticity, curiosity, and humor create a nurturing environment for your healing journey.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a Colombian-American and first-generation immigrant, my values of familismo, personalismo, and connection deeply influence my therapeutic approach. I take pride in honoring my Latine roots by challenging systems of oppression, modeling ways to take up space, and creating emotional safety for others to do the same. Effective communication and boundaries are central to my work, empowering clients to express their needs and navigate relationships safely and effectively. I continuously strive for professional competence and cultural humility, integrating evidence-based interventions with cultural sensitivity. Collaborating, building trust, promoting self-advocacy, and creating a safe space for exploration and growth are at the core of my clinical work.
