About My Clients
You are a new mom and are feeling worried, sad, frustrated, angry or stuck and not sure how to feel better. Your previous ways of coping aren’t working as well as they used to. You’re exhausted and feel like you’re failing in all of your roles. You are not sure how you can balance it all. You may be feeling frustrated with your partner and have noticed increased distance or resentment in the relationship.
My Background and Approach
I help clients manage mental health symptoms by helping them increase their self-awareness, process their emotions, and develop self-confidence and connection to others. I help mothers adjust to their new identities and learn how to manage the big emotions that they experience and achieve their parenting goals. My clients experience me as approachable and down-to-earth, yet direct in my feedback. Together, we will explore how you got to where you are today, discover patterns, find ways of healing emotional wounds, and appreciate and build on your strengths. I will help you make sense of your feelings and feel more confident in yourself and your relationships.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Entering into therapy is a vulnerable experience. People of all backgrounds should be able to get the help they need without fear of microaggressions or further oppression by the therapist. I strive to help people of all gender identities, sexual orientations, race and body size feel respected and safe with me. I am committed to integrating an understanding of how intersecting forms of oppression contribute to an individual’s experience. Through ongoing education, peer supervision, and cultural humility, I will do my best to understand and validate your experience.
