About My Clients
Are you finding yourself feeling alone, on guard, & powerless? Do you sometimes turn to desperate ways of coping in order to escape your pain? Are you angry that you cannot seem to just “get over it” & continue to repeat unhealthy patterns? If so, I see you & I am so glad you're here. I know you're ready for some relief & you’re ready to nurture your relationships without your past getting in the way.
My Background and Approach
Hey there. I'm Erin. I'm an EMDR trauma therapist and I don’t believe you have to keep living life overwhelmed, numbed out, or reliving painful experiences. As a trauma survivor myself, I understand how difficult (and terrifying!) it can be to find a therapist, let alone a therapist who you really gets it and feels safe. I work best with people who are so sick of the way things currently are that they’re willing to make some changes in their lives, even if it’s scary or hard. I’m not the “blank slate,” “smile-and-nod” kind of therapist. I’m not afraid to delve into the messy, uncomfortable stuff with you, to (gently) call you on your BS, and to laugh and celebrate with you. I'd love to hear from you - feel free to shoot me an email and we can set up a time to chat and see if we're a good fit. I can't wait to hear from you!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I’m a therapist because I believe in the power of this process. I’ve seen it in my own life, I’ve seen it in the lives of my past clients, and I want to help you see it in yours. I’m a (late diagnosed) neurodivergent trauma survivor who knows that it is very possible to fight your way out of the pits of despair towards a life that is worth living. Therapy helped me work through the pain of having strong reactions and find the relief of learning tools to center myself. As I grew as a therapist, I sought out specialized training so I can support people in learning to calm their nervous systems, too. If you’re ready to do the work, I’m SO ready to join you in it!
