About My Clients
Right now you may be feeling limited in your ability to cope with your emotions, feeling hopelessness and overwhelmed with things outside your control. Whether you are going through a big change or you are having difficulty understanding your emotions, you do not need to do this alone. Together we will explore and navigate the painful experiences you have endured and work towards a brighter, more secure future. I welcome you into a safe space, where you can feel comfortable to explore.
My Background and Approach
We are all unique. There is no one-size-fits-all way of working with clients. I encourage the uniqueness and approach therapy with the same lens. If you decide to work with me, we'll examine parts of your past, challenges in the present, and hopes for the future while honoring your intersecting identities and natural strengths. I'll hold space for you to cry, vent, make jokes, swear, whatever you need — while helping you deconstruct unhelpful patterns, adjust unrealistic expectations, set healthier boundaries, heal past wounds, and embrace your most authentic self. I draw upon aspects of psychodynamic theory, attachment theory, humanistic theory, mindfulness-based CBT, DBT, and narrative therapy amongst others.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone is capable of change if they want it bad enough. I look at maladaptive behaviors as learned from generational trauma and what we are exposed to, and learned behavior can be unlearned and replaced with healthy ones over time with dedication and growth.
