About My Clients
It's hard to say exactly who I serve the best because ultimately, that's up to you. I feel strongly that the most unexpected combination of people can generate meaningful growth in an environment built on respect, honesty, and autonomy. If I were to provide some general ideas, though, I imagine I am a good fit for folks who are looking for targeted trauma work, those wanting to feel more connected to themselves and their bodies, and anyone looking to be a little "out of the box".
My Background and Approach
I received my MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Georgia State where I received specialized trainings in suicide prevention and intervention, non-suicidal self injury, expressive arts therapy, Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET), and telehealth ethics. I am also a trained EMDR therapist currently pursuing certification in accordance to EMDRIA standards. I have been privileged to work with people across the lifespan navigating a range challenges and symptoms in both private and community settings. In all situations, my approach prioritizes the therapeutic relationship. I use person-centered techniques to make sure I'm hearing you and responding to your needs and goals. I also always use a trauma-informed lens, so you can expect transparency, respect, and a lot of autonomy. It also means I aim to become your collaborator, rather than a director. Importantly, I am committed to creating safety through cultural humility and am LGBTQ+ affirmation using open dialogue.
