About My Clients
Life can be complex, and challenging, especially for children, teens, young adults, and individuals with chronic illnesses or developmental, behavioral, and intellectual disabilities. If this resonates with you or someone you care about, or if you’re seeking behavioral or mental health support for yourself or a minor in your care, I am here to help. *I primarily work with children aged 2.5+, adolescents, teenagers, and young adults, and I specialize in neurodivergent and trauma-informed care.
My Background and Approach
As a therapist, my goal is to create a warm, judgment-free space that empowers clients to explore their thoughts and feelings, work towards mutually established goals, and build skills. I do this through play-therapy, emotion-focused reflection, mindfulness and grounding techniques, and role-play scenarios. I focus on client-based care, and set treatment goals with your needs and concerns in mind. I have a Masters in Clinical Social Work, with a concentration in school social work. I also have a Bachelors in Social Work with a minor in chronic illness. These two education experiences provided me with valuable insight in working with children and adolescents with chronic conditions such as ADHD, Autism, intellectual and developmental delays, learning disorders, and other physical health conditions.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
During sessions, I encourage clients to be themselves and do what they need to feel present. If you want to color, sit on the floor, wear comfortable clothes, play a game, or use a fidget toy, feel free to do so! I strive to use inclusive, neurodivergent, sensory-friendly, and developmentally appropriate techniques and treatments tailored to each client. I am excited to provide an accessible and sensory friendly therapeutic space, and have options for clients to personalize their experience (lighting, seating, and other sensory choices).
