About My Clients
My client is typically a person or couple who is seeking therapy to improve their relationship(s). They may be experiencing emotional disconnection, conflict, or distress and are looking for support in addressing these issues and improving their emotional connections. My clients also have a desire to improve the quality of their relationship and deepen their emotional bond with their partner. They feel stuck in negative patterns of interaction and wish to break these patterns.
My Background and Approach
I am a native Las Vegan and a former educator. I have always longed to help others especially emotionally. As a high school educator, I envisioned my role as a mental health professional as one working with adolescents. However, to my joyful surprise, I realized throughout the years, that I LOVE working with couples and love relationships. Helping partnerships learn the negative cycles that keep them stuck and disconnected and then restructuring the bond that allows for loving connection was so rewarding for me. My approach to therapy with clients is to allow space for them to become more aware of their emotions within themselves and between others. This involves exploring emotions experienced, identifying underlying needs and desires, and recognizing the ways in which emotions influence thoughts and behaviors. Through these discoveries, we work to restructure the negative interaction patterns that keep an individual, couple, or love relationship stuck and disconnected.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I personally believe all behavior makes sense through an attachment lens. The emotion behind our behaviors has a message and should be heard and explored. I understand that emotions are a key element in the human experience and that they play a vital role in shaping our relationships. Our emotions are trying to share a message to us for the purpose of keeping us bonded to our loved ones. Building a secure attachment bond is paramount to all humans and is the driving force of our actions and our love. We all want and deserve to be accepted, responded to, and engaged with by those we love and long to be loved by.
