About My Clients
I specialize in working with people experiencing PTSD, depressive symptoms, anxiety or panic, low self-esteem, and behavioral concerns; my treatment ranges in scope from general stress management to processing severe trauma. I live and work with a strong racial equity and social justice focus. LGBTQ+ welcoming and affirming.
My Background and Approach
As a therapist, my goal is to help you to know yourself, to heal, to achieve clarity, to uncover your true potential, or to find the answers you need to take your life in the direction you want. Learning to understand ourselves within the context of community, family and the systems within which we operate is key to personal well-being and optimal functioning. Using my extensive training in the evidence-based therapeutic approaches and trauma treatments that best fit your needs and goals, we will work together to help you process trauma experiences or grief, or to identify unwanted behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life. Together we will explore your situation in order to help you understand yourself more clearly and determine what types of outcomes you seek.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I take an integrative approach to therapy, which means that I find truth and value in several different psychological foundations that are generally rooted in the Psychodynamic, Attachment, and Systems Theory models. Combining depth therapy (Psychodynamic, EFIT, Parts Work) with other evidence-based modalities (EMDR, CBT, Somatics, Mindfulness), I aim to help people reconnect with themselves - healing old wounds and trauma, releasing shame narratives, letting go of safety behaviors that no longer help - with the overall goal of moving from just surviving to thriving. I specialize in family of origin issues, self-discovery and identity issues, life transitions, grief, loss and trauma and ADHD. I am professionally and personally devoted to issues of equity and justice, which have guided my ongoing professional development in multiculturalism and systems theory.
