About Our Clients
At Brave Young Minds, we help kids, teens, young adults, and families navigate anxiety, trauma, obsessive-compulsive symptoms, and big behaviors. We specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) as well as parent coaching. Our ideal clients may be neurodivergent, chronic over-thinkers, people pleasers, or throwers of tantrums. We offer online evidence-based therapy and comprehensive neuropsychological assessment for those ready to learn and grow!
Our Background and Approach
The strategies we use are grounded in years of experience helping young minds break free from the grip of anxiety, OCD, and trauma. Our work is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), the gold-standard treatment for these issues. We’ll face the fears together—step by step—in a way that helps retrain your brain to respond differently to anxiety triggers. Instead of avoiding what scares us, we’ll learn to tolerate discomfort and build confidence through direct, supported exposure. We start with what’s happening right now and work to disrupt the patterns that keep you stuck. You’ll understand what’s going on in your brain and body when anxiety takes hold, and learn how to respond with intention instead of fear. We’re not just talking—we’re practicing. Our sessions are active, focused, and collaborative. Over time, you’ll find that what once felt impossible now feels manageable. Together, we’ll help you regain control and build a life that isn’t ruled by your fears, but by bravery.
Our Personal Beliefs and Interests
We believe in the strength and resilience of every human. Our approach is grounded in research, empathy , humor, and understanding, creating an inclusive environment where all voices are heard and valued. We advocate for equitable access to mental health resources for all individuals, regardless of their background. We support local nonprofit organizations that provide free and low-cost mental health services. Our practice owner, Dr. Vivyan, manages her own anxiety and perfectionism by practicing exactly what we preach: helpful thinking, brave behavior, good sleep, yummy and healthy foods, limited screen time, happy movement, and time with family/friends. She also has a rescued Chihuahua mutt named Zadie who is a parvovirus survivor from Austin Pets Alive. We believe that every human and on this beautiful planet deserves love, respect, and support. If you are wondering if we might be a good fit, reach out. We'd genuinely love to hear your story and help you to find your best self!
