About My Clients
My focus with my clients is to provide a comfortable and supportive environment, while assisting with identifying and modifying beliefs and/or behaviors that impact healthy functioning. I believe that treatment goals are best developed collaboratively with each individual, and that goals should be designed to focus on areas of personal significance.
My Background and Approach
I utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches to best fit each individual's needs; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Reality Therapy and motivational interviewing; with focus on problem solving, coping skills, development of communication skills, and providing tools for continued recovery across the lifespan.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone should have access to quality mental health care. I believe everyone deserves the opportunity to grow and change, and have the supports necessary to help them along their personal journey. From my own experiences, I believe I have developed an approach that will empower people to gain control over their anxiety, depression, and other personal challenges. The importance of collaborative treatment planning is paramount. I believe that art and music are windows to our truest selves and can heal, and love to incorporate that into my therapy practice. The creation of a safe space, open to EVERYONE, without judgement, where clients can feel free to be themselves and share their personal experiences as they feel comfortable and engage in treatment, is a priority to me.
