About My Clients

I specialize in facilitating people’s own insights and resilience to access more contented lives. I can join you in bringing awareness to maladaptive coping strategies; I will share tools with you in an effort to facilitate your own resourcefulness. Congratulations on taking your first step in realizing your potential!

My Background and Approach

Living in California can be exhausting with its high paced culture; allow me to work with you on achieving insights about the origins and solutions to anxiety, depression, anger, substance abuse, behavioral addictions, and dissatisfaction with relationships and work. I strive to normalize and validate your experiences in order to get you to a more resourced place in life! My specialty is working with addiction of all kinds; the end-goal is either moderation management (also knows as harm reduction) and abstinence from one or more substances and/or behaviors. With two decades of working an active sobriety program myself, and having been raised in an aIcoholic home, I can assist you and your loved ones in obtaining relief from anger, restlessness, and grief. I can also support you in living with an active substance abuser as well as recovering from bereavement after losing a beloved person or animal. Recovery has varied approaches; let us find yours and allow you to develop new skills.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I started my career in addiction counseling, via the Hazelden Betty Ford Graduate School of Addiction Studies in 2012, and I then received a counseling psychology masters from Palo Alto University in 2015; I have been working for a large HMO as a psychotherapist for the past seven years. Personally, I have a background as a yoga instructor, meditation practitioner, and competitive runner and triathlete; I recognize intimately that exercise addiction, workaholism, and even relationships can be impulse control disorders similar to many other compulsive behaviors that can cross the line into addictive behavior.
