About My Clients
These therapy sites seem to emphasize being like and familiar with your client's current struggles. I don't relate to this. What I am skilled at is being different - being myself - so that you can be yourself and understood by someone different. I am not a master of your issues, I am a master at learning and supporting you whatever you are navigating or whom ever you want to be. What I can promise is that I bring a decade of experience of learning to find the meaningful change in peoples lives.
My Background and Approach
My name is Erik Johnston, and I am a depth therapist. Being a depth therapist means I seek to explore your inner feelings, thoughts, sensations, and intuitions as a way of creating options and new ways of being in your outer life. I seek first to support and know you – as an individual or as a couple – so that I can reflect back to you who you are and who you want to be. In therapy with me you will be offered the opportunity to change yourself and your behavior towards health and growth. In some ways I do this like many therapists, through talk, body awareness, mindfulness: ultimately gaining a further understanding of the whole you. In other ways I am quite unique. People are often surprised at how flexible I am in my ability to work with both women’s and men’s issues – working with both the feminine and the masculine aspects of our nature.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have personal beliefs. They inform my perspectives on love, relationship and what is or is not sustainable ways of being. Some of the stories we live out have bad ends. And other ways of being bring warmth and hope. My goal is to find importance of your beliefs, of your story and of how your values and beliefs serve you.
