About My Clients

My clients are the perfect combination of moody/sarcastic with a heavy dose of dry/dark humor. They struggle to show up as their authentic self because they're burdened with feeling lost, stuck, and unworthy of happiness. They compare themselves to others, experience negative thoughts, low motivation and suffer from anxiety, depression, and unresolved trauma. Despite a guarded exterior, they yearn for someone to acknowledge their pain. Starting therapy has helped them process pain and thrive.

My Background and Approach

For the last six years I have worked within the field of substance abuse and addictions, treating teens and young adults who struggled with anxiety, depression, complex trauma, and substances use disorders of all types. Through these work experiences, I’ve learned there is no “one size fits all” therapy approach, and although I often utilize CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), Existential therapy, and Mindfulness-based therapy within my practice – I'm more interested in getting to know my clients for who they are, exploring what therapy approaches may work for their individual needs, and providing culturally-competent collaborative therapy. Together, we can work to better manage your symptoms of anxiety and depression, challenge you to show up authentically within your life, explore how discrimination, oppression, and gender expectations have restricted you, unravel generational trauma, and empower you to seek true fulfillment.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Sometimes our life experiences stunt our ability to believe we are worthy of happiness. I'm here to remind you that worthy is an understatement. I believe we are all capable and worthy of happiness and fulfillment, no matter our traumas, our diagnoses, and/or our mistakes – trust me, we’ve all made them. I believe that despite the environment we grew up in, and the pain/dysfunction/trauma we’ve endured, we are capable of re-learning how to live our lives so authentically, that peace and happiness are a mere byproduct. As a mental health professional, I am committed to inclusivity, equality and social justice and I strive to create a safe, compassionate, and welcoming space for all.
