About My Clients

I often work with folks experiencing intrusive thoughts or worry, anxiety and panic, or emotional upset following trauma who want to better understand their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors and make meaningful changes in their life. I also offer support through pregnancy, postpartum, and the (peri)menopausal transition including navigating perinatal anxiety, infertility, trauma, OCD, and the emotional complexities of parenthood and transitions throughout life.

My Background and Approach

My approach is compassionate, curious, and integrative. I am greatly influenced by my years as faculty at UPenn providing evidence-based treatments such as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and CBT for OCD, PTSD, and anxiety. I combine this with a collaborative, person-centered approach emphasizing your own insights and understanding. My hope is to help you make meaningful changes you seek that are in line with what is most important to you. My background includes years in academic medicine, integrative care environments, and community behavioral health. I am a trainer and specialize in ERP for OCD and exposure-based methods for PTSD, as well as CBTS for panic, social anxiety, and general anxiety symptoms. I am also perinatal mental health certified, am training faculty for IOCDF and Postpartum Support International, and supervise residents and trainees. I hope to bring my expertise from my years in academic medicine into a personable and client-centered approach to treatment.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Starting therapy may feel challenging and my hope is to first build a trusting relationship and environment that helps you feel comfortable with the process of therapy. My orientation is rooted in my training in CBTs and humanistic orientations and I tend to take a curious approach to better understanding you and your needs. I integrate other techniques from my training to help you gain further insight into your unique ways of thinking, feeling, and relating and to aid in changing less helpful patterns. My hope is to help you find ways to live a fuller life in line with what is most important to you. I also believe that our cultural backgrounds greatly inform how we see and move through the world. I actively reflect on how my cultural background and identities inform my clinical lens, and am open and responsive to your unique cultural context. I strive to create a space where cultural perspectives are openly explored and integrated into care in a respectful, collaborative manner.
