About My Clients
Are you waking up in the morning with that pit of anxiety in your stomach or that tightness in your chest? Constantly over-thinking, worrying, and self-doubting? Struggling with setting boundaries, saying no, and making yourself a priority? Feeling lost or confused about who you are and where you're headed? You know you're feeling overwhelmed, and you're ready to make a change - you just need some help figuring out where to start. That's where I come in!
My Background and Approach
60% SUGAR, 40% SPICE = You will get endless support, compassion, and understanding from me - but you’ll also get me calling you out when you’re on your bullsh*t. GOAL-ORIENTED = You’re investing your time, money, effort, trust, and energy into this process. One of the first things we do is clarify your goals for therapy to ensure that you see a tangible return on your investment. COLLABORATIVE = I am not the therapist who's going to sit silently nodding for 45 minutes and then take your money at end of session. I’ll provide feedback, observations, highlight patterns, and pose thoughtful questions that help you gain insight to make the changes you’re looking for. CONVERSATIONAL = I don’t keep a notepad on my lap or a clipboard with a checklist of questions. That wouldn’t be enjoyable for me, and I imagine it wouldn’t be particularly fun for you, either! I want our sessions to feel like an organic conversation - not a doctor's appointment.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Therapy doesn't have to be boring or cookie-cutter. I may be a therapist, but I’m also human. Which means I’m not perfect, I know you’re not either, and that’s ok! You don’t have to pretend to be perfect when you come see me. It's ok for us to *actually have personalities* during therapy. I don’t wear business clothing or hang my degrees on my office wall. I curse, I love dark humor, and I admit when I don’t know things. My office feels like a cozy living room, and my dog Lazlo is present more often than not. You won't be handing your power over to me. I won’t tell you how to live your life or which answers to choose - only YOU can take ownership of your life. But I CAN provide partnership, accountability, support, and years of mental health knowledge, training, and experience to help you do so.
