About My Clients
If you're finding thoughts or memories make it hard to get through the day, relationships are complicated or toxic, you're feeling anxious or not great about yourself - I'd love to help. Maybe you feel guilty or not up to the task, or you're pregnant, trying, or recently had a child enter your life. Maybe you don't feel like you can share things with friends or family, and you don't have an outlet. I'd love to help you explore how to get to a better frame of mind to heal and grow.
My Background and Approach
I use an eclectic, research-informed approach, which starts with the fact that what makes therapy work, according to study after study, is how well you get along with your therapist. I try to create an environment where you can feel comfortable in your own skin as you figure out what it looks like to recover and grow. Sometimes this can mean I bring in tools and techniques from more formal training with paperwork, other times - most of the time, really - it's more fluid. Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked in research for about a decade. This taught me how much our systems can be stacked against people in addition to the everyday or more extreme challenges each person might have. It also taught me to blend what I learned into therapy for my clients. Beyond this, I have specialized training in trauma, suicide, and veterans. I have additional experience with people who identify with LGBTQIA+, racially diverse backgrounds, pregnancy, postpartum, and pregnancy loss, among others.
