About My Clients
Many of my clients are millennial women of color navigating the intersections of identity, culture, and trauma — often carrying anxiety, burnout, or the pressure to hold it all together. I welcome clients who want more than surface-level talk therapy: those ready to reconnect with their bodies, set boundaries without guilt, and heal at their own pace. My practice welcomes anyone drawn to a compassionate, culturally responsive, trauma-informed approach.
My Background and Approach
I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (B.A. Psychology, Florida International University; M.A. Clinical Mental Health Counseling, South University) and founder of Human Freely Psychotherapy & Wellness. My approach blends traditional talk therapy with somatic and holistic techniques — breathwork, mindfulness, and body-based practices — to help clients heal not just the mind, but the nervous system. As a former HR leader turned therapist, I bring a grounded understanding of workplace stress, burnout, and boundary-setting into our work together. I don't believe in rushing your story or offering one-size-fits-all advice; sessions balance compassion with gentle challenge, always moving at a pace that feels safe for you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Representation in mental health matters deeply to me — as a Black woman therapist, I know what it means to search for a space where your full story is honored. My work is also grounded in faith and values-driven living, though I never impose that on clients; it simply shapes how I show up — with humility, presence, and belief in each person's capacity to heal. Outside of sessions, I facilitate mental health and burnout-prevention workshops for employers, and I'm active in suicide-prevention advocacy through my work with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP).
