About My Clients
I tailor my work to each person's preferences, needs, and goals, with the intention of helping clients develop tools and insight that extend beyond our time together. The pace and direction of the work are shaped collaboratively, in keeping with where each client is and where they want to go.
My Background and Approach
I spent over 25 years as a community college professor of fine arts, working closely with a highly diverse student population. That experience — along with my clinical work at Liberation Programs, where I worked with individuals and groups, and with older adults through Family Centers — continues to shape my approach. I take a client-centered, talk-based approach, integrating elements of mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and — when it feels meaningful — creative modalities such as art and music.
