About My Clients
The majority of the clients I work with are people who may be struggling with emotional intensity, trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use, or grief. I offer therapy rooted in presence, care, and the belief that healing happens when we are fully seen—especially in the places we’ve had to hide to survive. As Black queer therapist with lived experience navigating religious abuse, racial violence, trauma, addiction, self-harm, and grief, I bring a rare depth of compassion to my work.
My Background and Approach
I hold a trauma-informed and anti-oppressive lens shaped by my personal and professional experience with complex PTSD, Borderline Personality Disorder, and early childhood abuse. I work relationally, with attention to attachment, emotional regulation, strengths, and perseverance. My therapeutic approach blends Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), somatic mindfulness, psychodynamic insight and strengths based. With a background in mental health outreach, substance use counseling, and community-based work, I understand the exhaustion that comes from trying to stay strong—and the strength that comes from finally being allowed to rest.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Through unlearning religious indoctrination, I also bring a spiritual lens to therapy for those who desire it —drawing from meditation and tarot to help clients access intuition, find deeper meaning, and reconnect with their own inner guidance. I believe in honoring each client’s spiritual experience, and welcome conversations about identity, belief, purpose, and the parts of us that want something more than survival. I believe that healing doesn't always need to be heavy. I brings humor into the room—not as a distraction, but as a reminder that even in our darkest moments, we can still find light. Laughter can be sacred, too. Sliding scale fees are available. I aim to make my services financially accessible, so please reach out and schedule a free consultation and we'll discuss.
