About My Clients

Hello! I'm a conversational, highly collaborative therapist who matches well with clients who are curious and active in their therapeutic process - even if they're currently feeling stuck or uncertain. I often work with folks in major milestone moments of their lives - quarterlife or mid-life meaning-making, deciding about or in the middle of a big life decision - pursuing additional education or career change, making relationship or family choices, etc.

My Background and Approach

My approach combines elements of psychodynamic therapy, relational therapy, mindfulness and cognitive-behavioral therapy which allows flexibility to support a client’s therapy goals in a highly-individual manner. We identify patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and beyond learning how to change them, seek to understand the purpose those patterns served and how reshaping them can alter outcomes in the future. We consider your individual story and experiences, alongside systemic factors (for example, family of origin, cultural influences, societal pressures), to build insight and belief in your ability to successfully navigate change, unpredictability or transitions in your life.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Our relationships and patterns, past & current, can influence how prepared we feel and the actions we take when facing the unknown. Therapy can be a way to process life events, as well as emotional and behavioral patterns, in order to build understanding, motivation, and resilience to create long-term change. Starting and remaining engaged in therapy can be difficult given life stressors and demands, but we will collaborate to set and work toward your goals in a way that is best for you. Understanding and contextualizing the role that systemic influences & oppression have on our patterns & engagement with the world around us can help us process individual feelings of guilt, blame or shame, help understand the role of systemic trauma and increase one's sense of agency in new or unexpected ways. I believe that everyone has the capacity to create a life for themselves that is fulfilling and meaningful, even if sometimes we have to be uncomfortable or accept "good enough" in the process.
