About My Clients
Are you someone who looks “put together” on the outside while struggling to manage the heaviness on the inside? You may juggle perfectionism, neurodivergence, substance use, a complicated mental health history, or parenting a 2e kid. I offer online therapy in NY for overwhelmed adults ready to let go of shame and treat themselves with compassion.
My Background and Approach
In 25 years, I’ve worked in community clinics, substance use programs, hospitals, LGBTQ+ health centers, and private practice. I've seen a lot. I know through experience that therapy works best when it honors your full humanity, not just your symptoms, diagnoses, or “coping skills.” While some therapy hands you shame instead of support, that’s not my style. I have a full (metaphorical) toolbox and I pull from a variety of approaches (psychodynamic, CBT, DBT, IFS, and more) and adapt them to what actually helps you, whether you are dealing with a complex mental health history, over-relying on substances, living with neurodivergence, or parenting a complicated 2e kid. Together, we find what fits.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe therapy should feel human, not clinical. Rather than nodding and mm-hmming, I engage with you actively and create a space where you can show up fully, say the things you might be afraid to say, and still be met with respect and curiosity. Before becoming a therapist, I acted, sang, and danced. I’m also mom to a grown-and-flown, twice-exceptional neurodivergent kid. I use my training and all of my experience to help people address shame around identity, mental health, substance use, parenting, and experiences rarely spoken aloud. Fun facts about me: I've been to 49 states, am under 5 feet tall, am a rabid NY Liberty fan, and perform and create visual art in my spare time. I also teach graduate social work students.
