About My Clients
Are you ready to embark on a path of relieving your individual and relational traumas, stresses, and conflicts? Together we will begin a process of lasting healing and change, and uncover tools to support you in your day-to-day life and relationships. I work primarily with adults between the ages of 18-50 who are interested in clearing the pain of the past to see expansively into the present.
My Background and Approach
As a systemically trained therapist, I take and integrated and holistic approach to therapy. I draw on a number of theories of therapy (primarily Internal Family Systems, Emotion Focused, Narrative, and Psychodynamic), Buddhist philosophy, and my own breadth of direct experience. I received my Masters in Couple and Family Therapy from Antioch University Seattle, and am a licensed therapist in Washington State as well as a Certified Life Coach. And the end of the day, I am someone who will warmly and compassionately be with you as you process your pain, move through the ups and downs of development, and celebrate your growth and successes. And I will be with you as you come to see yourself just as I will see you, through it all: at the deepest, inherently good and infinitely precious.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that we have an abundance of inner resources that, when accessed, will support us in trusting ourselves to move successfully through life's difficulties. Of course, accessing these resources can be easier said then done! Particularly when we are under the consistent influences of the pains from our past and the societal conditioning of, well, always. Thus, the importance of clearing whatever is in our way of seeing how strong, wise, and compassionate we are. To quote the inimitable Pema Chödrön: “Behind all hardening and tightening and rigidity of the heart, there’s always fear. But if you touch fear, touch that soft spot, you find the vast blue sky. You find that which is ineffable, ungraspable, and unbiased, that which can support and awaken us at any time” (Practicing Peace in Times of War).
