About My Clients
I work with a wide range of clients including adults, children and teens on a variety of issues including complex trauma, PTSD, relational issues, anxiety, grief and loss, depression, parenting, faith and ministry related stress, and identity issues.
My Background and Approach
I am passionate about helping people explore and heal from their pasts while also discovering purpose, meaning and empowerment in their lives. In therapy sessions, my approach is eclectic and individualized based on my clients experiences, strengths and needs. I integrate a psychodynamic approach with cognitive behavioral therapies such as Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) when working with adults and teens and cognitive behavioral play therapy (CBPT) when working with children. Depending on the needs of the client, I may also incorporate psychoeducation surrounding physiological responses, art modalities, and mindfulness practices in my sessions with clients.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that it is a privilege to walk alongside people and highly value the therapeutic relationship. I also believe that no person or story is the same and I honor the uniqueness of each person and strive to bring a holistic, kind and hopeful presence during the process of therapy. It is my belief that each person brings their own strengths and life experiences to the table and that working collaboratively is the most helpful approach to drawing on these strengths and helping individuals navigate the challenges life brings. I also know first hand how difficult it can be to face the things we have been avoiding and how much courage and work goes into the healing process from my own personal counseling and healing journey. And I believe that you are worthy of the work too!
