About My Clients

I work primarily with children ages 3-12 and their families. I believe in meeting all children where they are, ensuring that they feel safe, valued, and seen as they explore life’s experiences and the emotions, thoughts, and actions that accompany them. I have particular experience and interest in helping children navigate trauma, identity, anger, anxiety, neurodivergence, and grief and loss through the utilization of play, mindfulness, and creative arts approaches.

My Background and Approach

With over a decade of experience working with youth in non-profit, nature-based, and educational settings, I bring a warm and authentic approach to my work with young people and their families. I integrate person-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive practices into my sessions to holistically support my clients, often pulling techniques and approaches from play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, creative arts therapies, and mindfulness-based therapies. As a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), I am currently pursuing full licensure in the state of Georgia as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I received my Master’s degree in Human Development Counseling from Vanderbilt University, and have worked as a certified elementary school counselor for the past seven years. Having been a part of the public school system, I offer a unique perspective when working with families, helping them navigate school-related supports and strengthen the home and school connection.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe in the transformative power of play. Through it, children express what words often cannot. I honor this language and create a safe, nurturing space where children can explore, heal, and grow. I believe every child carries within them a natural rhythm—an inner wisdom that guides their development, their feelings, and their relationships. My role is not to fix, but to witness, support, and gently guide that rhythm when it becomes disrupted. I also trust in the healing nature of secure relationships. I work not only with the child but in partnership with caregivers, recognizing that lasting change happens in the context of connection. I believe in meeting each child exactly where they are—with empathy, curiosity, and unconditional regard. My practice is grounded in evidence-based modalities, but also in deep respect for the individual experience of each child. Above all, I believe in the resilience of children and the profound impact of being seen, heard, and accepted.
