About My Clients
My clients often start out feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from the lives they want to be living. Many have histories of not getting their needs met and are tired of just surviving. Many of my clients experience a constant hum of anxiety, or even panic, and are looking for support in reducing anxiety. They want to feel happier and more satisfied with their lives and relationships. I welcome and delight in supporting LGBTQIA+ folks as well as neurodivergent individuals.
My Background and Approach
I've been a practicing therapist for 9+ years and I approach therapy with immense humility and curiosity. No one is an expert in you other than you. That said, I am confident I have some tricks up my sleeve that can likely be helpful when it comes to your mental health. I started out working with children, teens, and families in various settings and now primarily focus on working with adults since opening my own practice in 2021. I'm incredibly passionate about helping people explore and identify the root cause of their mental health challenges, and balancing that with in-the-moment tools and solutions to use to cope with day to day life. My training is in social work, which means I always look at how systems of oppression impact mental health, and truly believe that capitalism is at the root of most mental health challenges. I am an EMDR-certified clinician and consultant, which is a fancy way of saying I have taken a lot of advanced trainings to grow my trauma therapy skills.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that humans are incredibly resilient, even in the face of immense hardship or difficulty. I believe in the goodness of humanity. I am a big believer in the healing power of art to help people process and express their emotions and experiences. I believe therapy could change the world, and the core of healing is being witnessed, seen, and loved in all of your messy truths. I became a therapist because I experienced the healing power of therapy in my own life and wanted to be able to sit on the other side of the room and experience helping others navigate their own challenges. And what a joy and privilege it is! I identify as a bisexual white woman and acknowledge that we are on stolen land. I am happy to unpack how my identities may impact our therapy dynamic with you and encourage POC to reach out. In my spare time I am passionate about fostering dogs. If you want to learn more about how I can help, send me an email and we can set up a free consult.
