About My Clients
My clients are often coping with losses society tends to turn away from, such as suicide, homicide, loss of a child, overdose/addiction, end-of-life care, or a life-changing diagnosis/disability. You might feel traditional talk therapy hasn't touched the depth of your pain, or that your grief is too heavy to share with others. Together we tune into your body, and create space for all parts of your story without any pressure to "move on" or fix what you feel.
My Background and Approach
Drawing from over a decade of experience in hospice care and private practice, I offer a somatic, authentic, grounded space to process traumatic grief, sudden loss, and complex trauma. I don't position myself as the expert on your unique pain, nor will I treat you as fragile or offer pity; instead my goal is to offer a steady presence to walk with you through it. My practice is relational, somatic, IFS-informed, and grounded in polyvagal theory. I believe grief demands to be felt and witnessed, and when trauma is involved, we often need body-centered tools to help your nervous system find safety again. We will work collaboratively to help you navigate grief’s intense waves and listen to what your body needs. The goal isn’t to "get over" your loss, but to integrate it into your life in order to help your system rediscover safety, meaningful connection, and joy alongside your grief.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe: Therapy is inherently political, our mental health is deeply tied to systemic oppression, and healing requires space where you don't have to shrink, fix, or hide your experiences, grief and pain. My practice is: Anti-oppressive, anti-racist, inclusive, affirming, relational and consent-driven, and is grounded in racial justice, fat liberation, LGBTQIA+ affirmation, disability justice, and reproductive freedom. My impacting identities: I am a white, cit, het, straight size, middle-class woman who is neurodivergent, and lives with chronic illness and pain. I recognize: The privileges I carry and the power dynamics inherent in the therapy room, and that is is my responsibility to engage in continuous unlearning, self-reflection, openness to feedback, and accountability. As a Therapist I am not: A neutral blank slate or an expert on your pain, identity, and experiences
