About My Clients
Depression and anxiety are your body's way to alert you that something is in imbalance, and my job is to support you in safely and non-judgmentally exploring that imbalance within yourself. My office is a relaxed, open environment where you can ask the questions that will lead to personal growth and discovery. We all get stuck in the patterns that make us believe things won't every get better, but the truth is life is always changing, and our past experiences don't have to define our future.
My Background and Approach
I started my career as a school counselor, so if you have concerns that stem from school experiences I will definitely relate to that. I use a strengths-based approach, so no matter how much you feel like you struggle, we will identify your positive qualities and use those to improve areas of your life you are not satisfied with. I will respect your life experience and worldview, because my goal is to not change you into something you are not, but respect who you truly are and encourage you to fully express that. I work best with issues surrounding anxiety and depression, including self-harm behaviors.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am open and respectful of all religious beliefs, which is important to me that you are able to find a therapist who respects your views. I am also an LGBTQ affirming therapist and have helped many clients through questioning, transitioning, and processing stages of their personal identity growth. I am a huge advocate of the immigrant community in the US, and have helped many families with unique challenges due to their immigration status.
