About My Clients
Maybe you haven't been feeling like yourself, or the stress and overwhelm has just become too much. I am a bilingual, culturally-attuned therapist. (Fellow millennials, Gen Z, and/or pet parents may find me an especially good fit, as we can relate to many of the things that have transpired in our lifetime. But I enjoy and am experienced in working with folks of all ages & backgrounds!) You don't know how much better you can feel until or unless you try.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 7 years' post-graduation from the University of Texas with helping folks trudge through some of their darkest hours and find a sense of calm. My warm personality and Spanish fluency have helped me break down walls and connect with diverse clients. One large focus of mine is working with immigrants & first-gen. My approach is usually a combination of person-centered, strengths-based trauma-informed care, CBT, bits of DBT/ACT, solution-focused, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and psychodynamic therapy. I hope to be a sounding board for you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I care deeply about bridging cultural gaps in our world through intentional relationship building both in and out of the therapy space. I am motivated by many brave peoples' responses to all the injustice we continue to see, as these are glimmers of hope for a more just future. Also, I wrote an undergraduate sociology thesis on unaccompanied child migration from Central America, if that gives you an idea of some of the nearest passions to my heart!
