About My Clients
Most of my caseload is made up of clients who are motivated to work through the stages of change or make progress towards goals in life. My clients are encouraged to work on topics discussed in therapy outside of sessions as well as come to sessions willing to participate in their own therapy. I look forward to teaching clients relapse prevention skills, coping skills for triggers, and exploring their underlying substance use and/or mental health concerns.
My Background and Approach
My therapeutic orientation includes a variety of modalities that I pull from to develop individualized treatment. I utilize Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Family Systems, Motivational Interviewing and other strengths-based approaches. I’m dually licensed in Washington State as a Mental Health Counselor Associate (MC60995796) and Substance Use Disorder Professional (CP61033461). I hold a masters degree from Northwest University and completed the Drug and Alcohol Counseling Program at Bellevue College. I have experience working with adolescents and adults (including families) with Co-Occurring Disorders in settings like Inpatient & Outpatient treatment, community mental health and schools. It has provided me the knowledge and skill set to provide assessments, individual and group therapy, and engaging clients who are still contemplating what changes they want in life.
