Accepting Clients

I am a cis-gender, fat-bodied, neurodiverse, and queer-identified therapist , and I am accepting new clients!!

Psychotherapist in Brooklyn, NY

About My Clients

I provide psychotherapy to individuals and folx 18+ in various relationship types with concerns including anxiety, depression, relational conflict, complex trauma, grief and loss, body image, self esteem issues, disordered eating, polyamory, gender identity and LGBTQ+ concerns. My therapeutic relationships are grounded in principles of non-judgment, harm reduction, compassion, and positive regard. Together we will work to find what hurts, ask the right questions, and facilitate your healing.

My Background and Approach

I completed my Masters in Social Work with a focus on Mental Health and Clinical Social Work at Hunter College in 2020. I had my internship at the Institute for Human Identity Therapy Center from 2019- 2020 and have continued to work for IHI as a Staff therapist since. In 2023 I started my private practice and recently signed on with Alma and Headway to start accepting insurance for my clients. I have also previously worked with several LGBTQ+ organizations, and volunteered as a crisis counselor for Crisis Text Line. Along with the skills I have learned from these organizations I also have a previous Masters in Fine Art from Rochester Institute of Technology. I believe that art, writing, music, and dance are forms of healing therapy and will integrate them into work with clients if appropriate.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

As a queer therapist, I know the importance of speaking with someone who is informed about queer and trans experiences and to feel connected to your therapist in a relational way. Also as a fat-bodied person I want to support folx who identify as fat, plus size, or large-bodied. I practice with a trauma-informed, intersectional, and strength-based approach, utilizing psychodynamic theory, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), somatic therapy, attachment theory, Health at Every Size (HAES), and harm reduction modalities. I regard therapy as a unique experience for each client and do not take a one size fits all approach.
