About My Clients
I have been compassionately working with children, teenagers, adults, and families in a variety of settings including outpatient, inpatient, residential treatment, and schools. We often get stuck in old patterns that were once necessary for our survival and protection that may be impacting our relationship with ourselves and others. My specialties include trauma, attachment, foster care and adoption, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, low self-esteem, and stress management. I am here for you.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Board Approved Supervisor who has been in practice for over 17 years. I use humor and kindness to look at ways your family system and past experiences have enhanced your relationship skills and ways they might be getting in your way. I use a relational, strengths-based and systems theory approach and incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), mindfulness strategies, and self-compassion techniques when providing individual and family therapy. I'm here to tailor the therapeutic experience to your or your child's needs and offer strategies and tools to accomplish your goals on your journey towards hope and healing.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that that the most important ingredient in successful treatment is the therapeutic relationship. You are your own expert who deserves to speak their truth and be heard. I love yoga and exploring all Austin has to offer, frequenting the newest super-hero movie releases and enjoying chips and queso at my favorite Mexican restaurants.
