Anxiety can be overbearing at times and a person may not even be able to explain why they feel the way they feel. The symptoms of anxiety can be overwhelming whether they are heart racing, jaw clenching, palms sweating, etc. I have experience teaching coping skills and being able to truly learn and identify triggers as well as unhealthy thinking patterns. My approach is to be able to help you better understand where the anxiety stems from to be able to process those situations.

Change can be so hard. Whether there has been a change in your jobs, living arrangements, role in the family, etc. it can be so difficult. Grief is commonly talked about among someone dying but there is still grief when there is a life transition. Life transitions can cause anxiety, depression, changes in sleep, changes in eating, etc. I am here to help you identify and process all the changes that have occurred in your life.

I have experience working as a therapist to adolescents 12-18 years old providing individual and family therapy. Adolescence is a difficult time for the adolescent themselves as well as their family around them. It is a time of so many changes and it can be difficult navigating these changes all on your own. My approach is to work with the adolescent to give them skills to navigate regulating emotions and learning coping skills while also including family members to better the relationships.

Motivational Interviewing is used in conjunction with other therapeutic approaches. My approach is to gauge your level of change and be able to guide you to see other options that you may not have considered before. Change can be so hard, but with a slow, consistent, and steady process it can be doable.

You are the expert on your own life. I believe that clients have the answers and need guidance rather than someone telling them what to do. I use a person-centered approach in my sessions by utilizing unconditional positive regard toward my clients and empathy.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is used specifically for anxiety and being able to identify thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. My approach is to use this to help better understand your anxiety and help create healthier thinking patterns.
