About My Clients
Are you noticing that you're nauseous, anxious, or crying and can't figure out why? Or maybe you wish that you could just hit pause on the world because it all just feels so overwhelming sometimes and you aren’t sure what to do next. Sometimes you think that no one understands you, or what you’re trying to say, or you don’t understand them... or sometimes, you don’t really understand yourself, either. It's confusing, I know. I look forward to working with you and helping you feel understood.
My Background and Approach
I believe that a conversation between two people striving toward the same goal can be viscerally healing practice. My goal is to be here with you, in the moment, and to provide you with the help and support that you deserve and desire. I use several different acronym'd methods of treatment in therapy, but the gist is: my main approach to counseling is to meet you where you’re at, hear what you are wanting to work on, and support you in making the changes you discover that you need both internally and externally. My goal is to help you gain skill in understanding and expressing your emotions; improve your communication and find general satisfaction in life; and help you learn how to get your needs met. My passion is helping individuals who struggle with conflict and communication in their important relationships. I enjoy working with people, not at them, and I believe that working together is the best way to achieve your goals. I am warm and I also will challenge you to grow.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in rest being a given; that we are human and all of what that encompasses (feelings, strengths, weaknesses, talents, the ability to make mistakes, growth) and that being human can be an endeavor that needs support; that everyone has autonomy over their own body; that everyone has the right to love and marry; I believe in being genuine and congruent. My goals are to help humans take care of themselves, their needs, and their wants by setting boundaries, learning self-like or self-love, and elevating themselves to the same priority that they elevate others. LGBTQIA+ affirming.
