About My Clients
Grief is a complicated process, and can make you doubt that what you are experiencing is real. You may be asking yourself, why do I feel so lost? Am I going crazy? Why do I feel so stuck? Maybe you have experienced the loss of a loved one, pet, friendship, job, or received a new health diagnosis. I help individuals who have experienced, or are experiencing, a significant or traumatic loss in their lives.
My Background and Approach
My approach to therapy is warm, direct, and non-judgmental. I collaboratively work with clients to meet you where you are in the moment so that together we can process your experiences and help you adjust to your new normal. I strive to provide a calm environment in which you feel that your voice is being heard. I have a background in both clinical and medical social work practice which has afforded me the opportunity to provide counseling to individuals and families in various settings including hospice care, hospitals, mental health clinics, private practice, and directly in the community.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that therapeutic interventions should be catered to the person in the moment based on their wants and their needs. I do not believe that therapy is one size fits all. I think that in order to be successful in therapy you need to allow yourself to feel some semblance of vulnerability--which can be overwhelming at times, and that success looks different for every client. The most challenging experiences in our life have the potential to fundamentally change us, but I do not believe that you need to go through these experiences alone.
