About My Clients
If you're feeling lost, confused, or dissatisfied with your life, you're in good company! Life can be difficult and painful for all of us at times, and exploring the big (and small) questions with someone supportive and compassionate can help. I work best with people who are curious about themselves and ready to take responsibility in their lives.
My Background and Approach
You know yourself better than anyone else ever could, and my role is to create a safe and accepting environment in which you can explore yourself and find out the answers that are right for you. I'll work with you to figure out what's getting in your way, and help you move towards a life that feels more meaningful, balanced, and fulfilling. It's important to me to provide culturally responsive and ethical care, and my own life experience allows me to bring compassion, authenticity, and non-judgment to build a therapeutic relationship based on respect, acceptance, and understanding.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that we humans are naturally oriented towards growth, and that we are all doing the very best we can. Our behavior is always purposeful, though not always conscious. Most of the challenges that people face are normal, and are the result of our own unique combinations of genetics and life experiences. Through therapy, study, travel, and reflection, I have experienced tremendous growth and change in my own life, and I want to support you as you figure out how you, too, can build a life of contentment, purpose, and meaning. I oppose discrimination and oppression in all forms, and am dedicated to continually deepening my understanding of patterns and systems that impact myself and others. I believe passionately in the ethic of personal autonomy, and respect and affirm individuals' rights to determine who they are and what is right for them.
