I believe that everyone deals with stress in their life and the causes of stress differ between individuals. I have first-hand experience with stress related to everyday situations and have researched different coping techniques to help minimize the effects of stress and how to handle stress in a healthy manner.
I have years of personal experience dealing with depression and through Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavioral techniques, I have learned skills to aid in coping with symptoms of depression.
I have years of personal experience dealing with anxiety and through this I have researched and developed different coping techniques to help minimize symptoms when they occur.
I focus a lot on the eclectic approach to therapy because it draws on different theoretical approaches. Eclectic therapy is beneficial in drawing from different approaches that will best suit the client's needs. Using a combination of approaches, a course of action for therapy can be developed that is unique to the client.
I have obtained my Master's Degree in Art Therapy and have extensive knowledge on different theoretical approaches within art therapy. I like to use theories such as the psychodynamic theory which puts a focus on the unconscious and unresolved. Through artistic expression and analysis and understanding, creating art in sessions can aid in conflict resolution and a better understanding of one's self.
CBT is a very common approach to therapy and is used to treat a variety of disorders such as anxiety and drug/alcohol use. It focuses on changing thought patterns which in turn can produce positive change.
