About My Clients
I enjoy helping individuals and families navigate current life stressors or challenges, such as parental divorce, changing schools, studying for a stressful exam, and so on. I have experience working with individuals of all ages, but particularly enjoy young adults ages 13-17 and 18+ who are pursuing education, new careers, or trying to get their feet wet with experience. I also love working with military families, as that is part of my background.
My Background and Approach
My goal as a therapist is to provide a welcoming and empathetic space for clients to process life’s challenges. I hope to connect with clients on a deeper level so that they can feel heard and understood. I am also a believer in validating emotions and helping clients build appreciation for where they are. Clients can expect to enter a safe, non-judgmental space during every session where I collaborate with them to create their safe, healing place. I am client-centered and a collaborative therapist. My approach to therapy is one that comes from a place of empathy and understanding. I believe it is important to recognize the growth and challenges that a client has experienced because that is the foundation we are building on. I also value hearing client's experiences and enjoy connecting them to their family through a multigenerational lens (Bowen Family Systems).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My goal for starting Healing Space Therapy was to provide a welcoming and comforting space for others to process life’s challenges. I don’t know about you, but these challenges appear to be occurring more frequently and a lot stronger lately. I often feel the need to connect with someone on a deeper level who would really hear what I was saying, without them sharing anything personal in return. My hope is that you will be able to connect with me in the same way. I want you to feel supported and heard in our sessions, especially if you do not have that outside of sessions. Therapy is hard and you need to be able to have trust in the person you reach out to. I am always open to feedback and willing to work hard to build your trust throughout this process. I hope that we can speak soon so that I can hear a bit more about your experiences and what support you are seeking!
